TRANSFORMATOR A transformer is an electrical device that functions to transform (change) the voltage of alternating current (AC) between two circuits without altering the frequency of the voltage. This device operates based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Transformers are widely used in power distribution and transmission systems to efficiently transport electricity over long distances. The main components of a transformer consist of two insulated wire coils, known as the primary coil and the secondary coil. The primary coil is where the electric current first enters, while the secondary coil is where the current exits after undergoing a change in voltage.
